“2023 Sounds Good Rising Star Music Competition” is held by the professional production team “好聲藝集 Sounds Good” from Taipei, Taiwan.

Since 2022, SGRS Music Competition continues to identify, nurture and cultivate musical talents from all ages, providing a platform for them to gain performance experiences on stage. From 2023, SGRS Music Competition will open to accepting international participants from all over the world.

 

Mission

The mission of SGRS Music Competition is to encourage and to provide a platform for music lovers and performers to showcase their talent on stage.

Instruments Division

There are a great variety of musical instruments added to the 2023 SGRS Music Competition. They include:

• Piano division:

• Strings division: Harp/Violin/Viola/Cello/Double Bass

• Woodwind division: Flute/Oboe/Clarinet/Bassoon/Saxophone/Recorder

• Brass division: Trumpet/Trombone/French Horn/ Euphonium

• Chinese Traditional music instruments Division:                   Erhu, Gaohu, Zhonghu, Liuyeqin, Pipa, Zhongruan, Daruan, Zheng, Yangqin, Di, Xiao, Sheng, Suona.

Categories

We invite all music performers to challenge themselves in joining the 2023 SGRS Music Competition.

The competition is divided into two main categories:

“Artistic Performer Category”, and

“Open Category”

​

Artistic Performer Category

There will be 3 rounds of selections:-

1st round – Qualifying by video screening

2nd round – Semi-final live competition

Final round – Live concert

Three (3) Winners will be selected by the judges at the final round, based on the overall artistry performance of the participants. Prize Winners will be awarded with generous award allowances totalling up to NTD15,000 (around USD5,000 equivalent).

Open category

There will be both solo and chamber music categories in the competition. Open Category is divided into groups according to age groups and type of musical instruments. Winner of the Open Category will be invited to perform at the Gala Concert during the Sound Good Music Festival which will take place between July to August 2023.

Jury panel

The Jury Panel of the 2023 SGRS Music Competition comprises well-known Taiwan and International Musicians and Professors. The Jury panel will evaluate the participants based on technical skills, music expressive together with music interpretation, and most importantly the musicianship of each performance.

The decision of the Jury is final and not open to further discussion.

Broadcasting

The 2023 SGRS Music Competition will be broadcast live in HD through our social media 好聲藝集 Sounds Good Youtube Chanel.
